Damien Hirst and Supreme are back together again. I love this version of the artist skate deck collaboration at least twice as much as the last work they did together. I had one of those boards for a little bit but it never stuck in my collection.

These ones probably will, big fan of them.

The collection releases in-store in the US on November 19th and online on November 23rd. Japan will see a release on November 21st.

The first time I met Ray Young Chu he talked a lot of shit about my eyebrows.

This threw me initially, but once the topic of conversation turned to ice cream, then back to eyebrows (a friend's this time), then to PBR, I figured that Chu wasn't really talking shit, he was just full of shit — the really, really weird kind that helps people make amazing art.

It's been just over a year since Ray slammed my facial features, but in that short time he's made some serious headway. Read on as Ray slows down long enough for us to catch up.

Despite our past mixed feelings on the success of the (red) campaign, we've remained supportive of its effect on the proliferation awesome artistic collaborations and solo efforts as a means of raising money for a good cause. This time around we're positively psyched for their latest undertaking. The (red) campaign has called upon some of the art world's most preeminent persons to conjure up some of their best creations for a charity auction aptly named (Auction) Red. Luminaries like Damien Hirst, Banksy, and Jeff Koons are amongst the big names involved in this event that will donate proceeds to the United Nations Foundation to Support HIV/Aids Relief Programs in Africa. If you want to catch a sneak peak of these picturesque pieces before they wind up in the home of someone who can afford them, we recommend heading down to New York's Gagosian Galleryfrom February 4th through 13th. If you find that you fancy one of these fine whether or not you can afford on, the auction will be held at Sotheby's in New York, on the (red)dest day of all, Valentine's Day.

One of my new favorite places to go out in London is certainly The Groucho Club, a members-only club with three bars, a brasserie and a formal dining room. The best part, really, are the people — everyone invited or involved in the club has a deep history in publishing, arts, media or creative fields. Unlike most clubs in London, everyone was actually very nice; they knew if you were in there, you were probably doing something interesting. The space also has a constantly evolving and fantastic art selection (when I was there, Banksy and Damien Hirst were on the dining room walls). In addition to all the open space for some good partying, the club has 19 bedrooms for members coming in from out of town that need a place to call home. The name was naturally inspired by one of Groucho Marx’s famous quips; “I don’t want to join a club that will accept me as a member,” which I absolutely love. Find someone respected in creative arts or media who knows the London scene and they’re likely a member — this place is worth a visit on a Saturday night.

Some of you may be familiar with the work of Damien Hirst, as well as the ones which also mock him. This week, though, saw a submission through our Design Showcase which while similar, is neither: A Very Hungry God, the 2200+ pound skull crafted of pots and pans by Subodh Gupta, currently floating on a Venice’s Grand Canal in front of the Palazzo Grazzi. The piece was designed as a commentary about Parisian soup kitchens using pork in dishes, which is not allowed in Muslim diets. Très intéressant, indeed.

Thanks to the folks at eternallycool for their submission, which has scored them one of Belkin’s awesome new Mousetraps. You have something that should be featured here? Join us and Kohler over at the Design Showcase, submit your finds and you, too, could be scoring some sweet schwag.

PIEK! is an art group based in Amsterdam. Damien Hirst is a contemporary British artist. PIEK! appears to be just starting out; Damien Hirst has exhibited all over the world and his piece The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living sold to an American hedge fund gazillionaire for 8 million dollars.

Before Hirst became a world-famous artist/bad boy he worked at a mortuary where he learned about various preserving chemicals. This is by way of explanation, because The Physical Impossibility is actually a 14-foot dead tiger shark swimming in formaldehyde within a really big aquarium. Hirst deals with death in his art quite a bit. What does this have to do with those PIEK! guys? Well, PIEK! has just made some art which references Hirst called Damien Hirst Trips Over a Diamond the Size of His Head and Dies. It’s a miniature figurine which shows poor Damien lying prostrate on the ground, blood rushing from his head, with the offending diamond at his feet. Hirst has made a living off of displaying dead things, and so PIEK! says that their piece is an ironic take on his oeuvre, and his just desserts. I’m not sure if that’s actual irony or Alanis Morissette irony, but you can decide that for yourself while you look at PIEK!’s website.
