It’s finally September and unfortunately that means it’s time to “Fall” out of Summer. Get it? Sorry. Anyway, the best part about a new season is the onslaught of spanking new collections that some of our favorite brands are set to unleash. Amongst the array of apparel makers making our autumn a little more bearable are the talented designers at Pop Junkie. The Santa Barbara based clothing creators have come up with quite the autumnal assortment of tees, totes, jackets, clocks, and even pillows that are sure to make your seasonal adjustment period just a little more comfortable and a lot more stylish. If you’re still jonesin’ for summer they even have some of their past designs on sale for as much as $10 off. Check out their website and see it for yourself.

March is upon us and the folks at PopJunkie have done their damnedest to come roaring into the first month of spring like a lion. Our old friends have some new gear that you'll surely be warming up to just as soon as the weather does. The San Francisco-based design team has baked up a fresh batch of hoodies and clocks, not to mention reprints of old designs on new women's shirts for your purchasing enjoyment. You can even display them on your person if you like. They're also having a sale on a good deal of their men's and women's shirts. So if you're looking for a great deal, or just some sweet new stuff, we recommend checking them out online or if you're in California you can find some of their gear at these locations.

Our friends at PopJunkie just dropped three new and badass clocks, and if you order one (as with any of their tshirts or other home accessories) by the end of the week, they promise to have it in your hands of those of someone you love by Christmas — which, in case you’re unaware, is nine shopping days away. I don’t know about you, but any shopping I can do that doesn’t include crowds and crappy customer service is a gift in itself.

Aaron Feiger and Ashley Marcinczyk, the ridiculously talented duo behind Popjunkie (also, Romantic Static) have just released a tonne of new merch into their online store, and the nautically-inspired, historically whimsical offerings are definitely worth checking out. I love that their women’s shirts come not only in the standard baby-tee, but also in super-flirty babydoll and v-necks as well; the guys shirts are so rockin’ they have me doing the standard Carmel/Heather lament “if only I had a boyfriend to buy these for.” And, if you’re a total weirdo and tshirts aren’t your “thing,” you can also scoop some prints for your barren walls or throw pillows to cushion your uptight ass on. Score!

Pop Junkie design is a collaborative effort between a young pair of fashionistas, founded in Santa Barbara, CA. The duo recently announced their Winter line of T-shirts, accessories, prints, and home-wares. My favorite shirt is definitely the Floral Lion, shown here. Argyles, scrolls, lions– what more could you ask for on a super-comfy sweatshop free t-shirt? Also be sure to check out the Floral Lion Tote
and why not a matching pillow.

Despite the weather turning sour on us a today, we had a chance to pop around some shops in Downtown Miami (we usually get sucked over to Miami Beach, so this was, in a weird way quite refreshing). One shop we stopped by we enjoyed was Culture Kings– which was primarily a sneaker boutique in the Design District–and not only carried a nice line up of some fairly rare shoes, retro Jordans and the like– but there was also a back room with more limited edition one-of-a-kind pieces customized by what appeared to be local Miami artists. This was clearly one of the most stop spots for sneaker junkies in town this weekend. They don’t have a website up, but you can check some pictures out and get more information on their MySpace page.

If you read this blog a lot, you probably know that we are big fans of great t-shirts. I would wear a t-shirt every day if left to my own devices–I like to think of them as comfortable little canvases on which to display, well, anything really. I still have some great t’s from the 80’s, and when I get bored while visiting my parents, I have been known to rifle through my Dad’s collection. Today, Lisa Kidner and Sam Knee took me on a trip down nostalgia road with their Vintage T-Shirts book. The two authors focus on quite possibly the best two t-shirt decades — the 70’s and 80’s — and revisit over 500 classic t-shirts. Genres include those awesome 80’s skateboarding and surfing t’s, the iron-on fad, pop culture t’s, and of course the authors give us a healthy dose of band shirts. This book would make a perfect gift for that t-shirt collector or fashion/pop culture junkie in your life. There is also a great collector’s directory at the end of the book that is a great resource in and of itself.
