Never one to take a rest on cutting edge art, Beautiful Decay’s online store now features a new line of tees in a spectrum of vibrant colors. They’re certainly not for the wallflowers. The collaboration with apparel designers and graphic visionaries, the Imaginary Foundation are sure to spice up your closet more than buying another solid-color shirt from American Apparel will.

Josh Keyes is a tough artist to put into words.

Initially, “painstaking” seems like the most appropriate term to describe his hyper-realistic paintings– after all, the detail is above the average human being’s level of artistic devotion. What else would describe the process? Focused? Acute? Zoinks? No matter. When words fail in an introduction, we always have the rest of the interview to suss it out.

There are some things I’m darn glad I missed out on when they were the thing in their heyday, like ’70s flare-bottom pants and prog rock. Nothing against them really, just personal preference. On the other hand, just watching the wild footage of early The Clash concerts makes me wish I could travel the time tunnel just to get a piece of the action. But there’s no value in regret because when you get down to it, if you do what Imaginary Foundation is graciously and thoughtfully doing — restocking select styles of their Surrealism- and Dadaist-inspired tees — then mulligans do exist indeed. A second chance for you to feel the very same elation that went around the first time you saw one of their shirts that read your mind but still you couldn’t get it together to put in an order. The time tunnel is here to pick you up, and besides, it’s probably a good excuse to spend some of that holiday money on yourself. Your Delorean is waiting.

Twenty-first century surreal art pusher Imaginary Foundation is adding to its mondo-successful line of tees with the debut of a new art prints line, which takes the inspiring, progressive-thinking images and messaging that drive its apparel offerings and puts them in a format more suitable for framing. Smart move, because I think nothing looks tackier than a framed shirt. The prints are set on museum-grade paper, and because they’re made in a limited run of 500, each one comes with all the works to prove its status as a bona fide collectible: a signed certificate of authenticity, handwritten edition number and special serialized holographic stamp from the Imaginary Foundation’s 70-something director, whose pop — for real — founded the Dadaist movement. Act fast.

Switzerland-based Imaginary Foundation has some new designs in their repertoire that are worth a look– they follow right along with I.F.’s mission of researching new ways of thinking and the power of imagination. This organization is somewhat mysterious– it’s headed up by a enigmatic ‘Director’ who is supposedly in his 70’s and the son of the founder of the Dadaistic Movement. To stay somewhat out of the limelight with their academic pursuits, I.F. communicates to the world at large through their streetwear line. The last I looked, they were running pretty low on their new stock, so you should head over ASAP to see what you can snatch up.

By now most of you are probably familiar with the t-shirt design work of Switzerland based group The Imaginary Foundation. Their shirts are top notch– ethereal, imaginative (duh) and always inspiring. They just released a handful of new of shirts worth taking a peak at (Lost in Music is my favorite). They’re also one of the many artists on Start Mobile– essentially the only place to download ring-tones and wallpapers from independent and emerging artists. All Imaginary Foundation wallpapers are free to download through 2007. So, it’s time to go hook your Razr or Blackberry up with a background worth looking at!
