My friend Jeremy Somers has gone on and produced a range of women’s swimwear called We Are Handsome which is very unique. Okay, it’s totally unique. Check it out ladies. What do you think?

Over the past four years a variety of talented artists at The People Like Us Collective have created some pretty solid shirt designs. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but their reign of tee supremacy is abruptly coming to an end. While they’ll continue to produce quality iPod cases, Jeremy Somers and company have announced that after Christmas they will be closing up their T-shirt store for good. On the positive side, the Aussie-based top shop is commemorating the occasion by cutting prices in half in efforts to move those final stashes of stock. So hurry up and help them go bye-bye with a bang before all of those tasty duds disappear.

When someone like you is in need of a sweet new T-shirt design you can always count on People Like Us. No, not us. You know JS.com is always good for it, but we’re referring to our buddy Jeremy Somers. His label has recently released three hot new designs for the summer swelter (although technically it’s winter where he lives). Their fresh looks come courtesy a trio of talented artists including Somers (Beautiful Squid), Swiss artist At-elier (Lovecraft), and Paris’s Théo Gènnitsakis (God’s Explosion).

People Like Us, the Australian tee company headed by Spear Collective’s very own Jeremy Somers, just released their Summer 08 line of tees and iPod protectors, and after a little browsing, we’ve decided to use the following word to explain our feelings succinctly: askdlgjaig. Final verdict: the tees are rad, as usual, but it’s the iPod covers (which have expanded in form to protect the full line of iPod products, including iPod Touch) that are getting us tongue tied. Artists like Matei Apostolescu (pictured), Chuck Anderson (who we write frequently about), and Jeremy Somers himself contributed to the new designs, and as far as we can tell, there’s no better way to keep your iPods safely churning out the tunes. Browse the tees and covers here.

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of the inaugural line of iPod-protecting Styles from People Like Us for sometime now, and it looks like they’re finally here. Jeremy Somers, a member of the Spear Collective and head of People Like Us has been working hard, and it looks like — once again — the Aussie didn’t disappoint. With so many iPod protectors on the market, do we really need more? I think so, because Styles aren’t your ordinary boring skins, and are not only made from non-destructive vinyl adhesive for protection, but also boast original art from a slew of some of our favorites– Chuck Anderson, Hejz, and Electric Heat (’Bad Horsey’ design shown above), to name a few. They’re available in an impressively wide selection of designs for most of the iPod and iPod Nano chassis for about $15 USD.

Designgive is a group of designers who’ve assembled to both showcase their work on fabric and kick some funds to some important charities. At this point, the featured designers include Brooke Nunez, Si Scott, Paul Macgregor, Scott Bartlett, Kronk, and the Spear Collective’s own Jeremy Somers. Each design is available in either guys or gals t-shirts ($15), long-sleeved tees ($18), or hoodies ($25). Several of my favorites are only available for pre-order May 14th through the 25th, so you’ll need to act quickly. When you check out with your merchandise, you can designate which charity you want to support. Your donation is included in the price, and is $1 for tees, $2 for long sleeves, and $3 for hoodies. Also, if you’re a designer and want to get involved with this project, you can fill out an application here. It’d be great to see this group grow in size to be able to more effectively fulfill its mission: design for a worthy cause.

The People Like Us Collective (or as I like to refer to them, ‘The Thunder Down Under‘) have just released two new t-shirt designs. If you hurry, you can get your hands on one or both of these limited edition t’s. They’re made with PLU’s ’should-be-patented’ Super Technology, which saturates the fabric with some seriously rich and vibrant color. I have always liked PLU’s sense of humor– they describe the ‘Funk & Fury‘ design on the left: This is not abstract design– it’s actually an accurate recreation of a day’s work at People LIke Us headquarters. And of the ‘Technicolour Waistcoat‘ design by Sydney-based Karan Singh on the right: In a perfect world we would all wear shiny multi-coloured jackets all the time (even in summer) and all of humanity would be one giant sparkely rainbow. Until that utopia exists, why not support the cause with this stunningly eye-pleasing design by one of People Like Us' favourite artists. People Like Us also fosters a giving, sharing environment– that’s why they’ll give you 10% off if you send a shirt as a gift. Giddy up!

Our mates ‘down under,’ People Like Us Collective, just released 11 new designs across two ranges of t-shirts. The beauty of the new shirts lie in the printing process– a super clean digital method that makes the colors way more vibrant and less prone to fading (because they’re actually embedded in the fibers of the shirt). As with the Beck + Mimoco giveaway we announced yesterday, we will be awarding shirts to ‘the chosen few,’ picked from the pool of those who sign up for our mailing list by Friday, December 1st at 5 P.M. E.S.T. The designs I’ve shown you above are from the new white range, and according to People Like Us ambassador and designer Jeremy Somers, they really are something special (limited to 100, hand numbered, printed to order with their ’super technology,’ and sure to sell out very quickly). Who wants in?

It’s Art Dammit is the very-colorful design portfolio of Sydney, Australia based designer Jeremy Somers. His main focus is photography and illustration, which he spreads across several print and web projects. His work feels a little bit like a cross between our friends Chuck Anderson and Scott Hansen– but with its own unique twist. His work has been featured in Start Mobile, Flavorpill, Emblem Mag and more. When he isn’t playing the graphic design game, he’s applying his talents to his newest project, a t-shirt label called People Like Us Collective. Nice work!
