Our pals at Metromint are at it again. Back in March of 2006 they launched Spearmint (I’m still waiting on my stock options), then in early 2007 the super-genius mintologists launched Lemonmint and Orangemint — also stellar flavors. But who could have seen this one coming? Chocolate mint water, the most original beverage since mint water. Choco-mint is delicious. In fact, if you close your eyes and drink it, the essence of chocolate left in your mouth afterwards feels like you just chomped down a chocolate bar. Same great taste, zero calories. Oh my god! It will be in stores for Valentine’s day, and I’m telling you, it’s damn good.

DaysAgo is a nifty gadget for anyone who has ever opened a jar of spaghetti sauce, put leftovers in the fridge, cleaned the fish tank, or watered the plants– or maybe more accurately, anyone who has ever poured moldy tomato sauce on their food, had a fish die, or watched their plants wither away and wondered why– swearing you recently watered them. The day-to-day timer was named a “Best Household Product of the Year 2006″ by Good Morning America– and I’m not sure how I missed it (other than not watching Good Morning America or ever going into grocery stores anymore). Traveling as much as I do lately my refrigerator looks embarrassingly barren (minus a few cases of Metromint), but these would still be useful when it comes to tracking the number of days food, or any number of things have been around. They are available in a suction or magnetic backing in packs of 2 for $10. My only question is: does it read out triple digits, because I’d need it to.

The super-genius mintologists at Metromint are at it again. I was so busy drinking up samples of the new flavors: Lemonmint and Orangemint, (I’m sort of addicted) that I almost forgot to write about them. Thanks to Evan’s mention over at CH, I can finally release the bottle and talk about my habit. While Metromint management tells me otherwise, I’m still trying to claim rights for the Orangemint idea. More than a year ago when my Metromint binge started, my kid brother and I started mixing Spearmint (a flavor named after us) with everything in sight. The best combination we discovered was half and half mixture of Spearmint and fresh squeezed orange juice– and alas, a year later Orangemint hits the shelves. Metromint claims they came up with it first, just like they tried to claim they didn’t name Spearmint after us. The new Lemonmint and Orangemint flavors are in stores now, and while we’re still waiting on residual checks, they’re crazy delicious!

Anyone who knows me knows I love mint, especially Metromint– the peppermint water made from nothing but spring water and pesticide-free mint grown in Washington’s Yakima Valley. I guess the folks at Metromint loved me so much they went out and created a new flavor named after me: Spearmint. The Spearmint flavor is more subtle than the peppermint– gentle yet oh so refreshing. The fridge at Spear Headquarters is now stocked! Keep your eyes peeled for it at your local Whole Foods or other natural grocery stores Summer ‘06

I was a little bit suspect when I started hearing a new mint water called ‘Metromint‘, but I gave it a try last week and i’m now glad I did– It’s great! Metromint is simply natural spring water mixed with pesticide-free mint grown in Washington’s Yakima Valley. It’s very refreshing. I found it at the local Wild Oats, and my ‘fridge is now stocked!
