Veja sent us a sneak peek at their sizzling-new high-top SPMA model inspired by the fifth largest city in the world: Sao Paulo. It has an acronym that I’m totally feeling: “Sao Paulo, Mon Amour,” for the “electrical and improvised artistic creation of the Brazilian metropolis.” You’re already aware of Veja’s ecologically correct standards, and this one doesn’t dare detract from that philosophy. The SPMA’s made from what they call “ecological leather”, which has been tanned with acacia extracts, and the sole’s created from wild rubber tapped from trees in the Amazon. Check out those contrasting-color shoelaces. The SPMA goes on sale for $185 in March in 13 European stores. OKI-NI seems like the best bet to get your tootsies in a pair.

It’s hard to avoid drawing paralells between Oki-Ni (London) and the Parisian powerhouse Colette from across the pond. Both carry the most exclusive items, and though their collaborations are not as frequent as some other brands, they are always grade A. To celebrate the new year, they worked with Oakley for 50 exclusive pairs of the iconic Frongskin sunglasses. In addition, the Timex 80 (which we’ve mentioned before) is back with some new metallic casings. And finally, if you did not get a chance to grab some of last season’s wares, head on over now and save 50% off sale items.

TSOVET: Read JS Review | Buy It ($435)
Great case designs and contrasting finishes paired with affordable prices make these watches the perfect gift.
Timex 80: Read JS Review | Buy It ($67)
It’s funny how things come full circle. I used to scoff at oversized G-Shock watches and now I find myself rocking one instead of the Omega or Sinnn. Timex has brought back a classic with the Timex 80’s. Add one to your wishlist up and it’ll be like having some New Old Stock (NOS). Nostalgic and intriguing at the same time.
Magrette Timepieces: Read JS Review | Buy It ($299)
This watch started quite a stir when we posted it. Homage aside, they are attractive, keep time, and are comfortable to wear all day. For the price, they offer excellent value and are not your “typical” watch.
Nooka: Read JS Review | Buy It ($250)
Specifically for the urban jungle (lions can sense fashion forwardness), Nooka takes the digital out of your Casio watch, stomps on it, kicks it a few times, and then puts it back into a sleek timepiece.
Bell & Ross: Read JS Review | Buy It
Everybody knows that the Swiss do two things better than anyone else: makes watches and remain neutral. And they’re also good at banking. So three … three things.
Chotovelli E Figli: Read JS Review | Buy It
Generations of watchmakers in this Italian family have preserved the Chotovelli tradition, but it was the last generation to take these classic chronographs to the next level.
TokyoFlash Negative: Read JS Review | Buy It ($175)
Japan is home to some seriously futuristic designs, but we find the TokyoFlash Negative watch to be the most straightforward of the space age lot. It’s kind of like time traveling to the distant year 2011.

Footwear designer Seishi Tanka hand draws every single sneaker silhouette of the TST line– and hand finishes each of them after production. The results are an organic, one of a kind sneakers with suede, leathers, canvas and other high quality “sneaker ingredients” in the mix. Our friends at Oki-ni just dropped a couple pieces from the new line including those shown above. Im partial to the TST Split Toe Sneaker show on the far left. TST Footwear is available at Okn-ni but I doubt they’ll last.

Fashion label Electronic Poet say they’re a blend of the art and science of music and fashion — coincidentally, four of our favorite topics. They just recently launched the Spring/Summer 2008 Collection — and boy is it good. Our personal favorites include the Moog T-shirt, which celebrates Moog’s introduction of the synthesizer in 1964, Matsushita giving us the decks in 1969, and the quilted hoodies (they have some great hoodies!). Speaking of dedications, the entire line is an acknowledgment to DJ’s, producers, and bands who have broken boundaries and pushed the future of electronic music. We know this picture only shows details, but we encourage you to check out the whole line — it’s stellar. Available at Oki-Ni!

From the casino floors of Vegas, to the velvet ropes in New York, there’s something about the power of the wad. Don’t deny that once or twice you’ve gone to the bank and asked for $500 in singles, then wrapped that sucker up with a few rubber bands, and voila! A wad. You know famous Belgian fashion designer Martin Margiela of the Antwerp Six believes, because he created a leather wallet with a faux $11-dollar bill facade (which is just a one dollar bill without Washington) for Oki-ni. It also costs quite of few of these dollars (well, since Oki-ni is London-based, we’re actually talking about pounds.) You’d think for the kind of cash we’d drop on this unique money minder he could have at least wrapped a $101-dollar bill around the outside.

Tomorrow on oki-ni, a few lucky shoppers will be able to nab a new Evil Invader Dunny. The kidrobot x oki-ni collab, inspired by the 80’s video game, offers eight inches of pixelated love, and will be co-released with an even more exclusive matching hoody (coming to you in an exciting Fair Isle/double colorway print! Wowza!). Only 175 of the Dunnys and 50 of the hoodies will be up for grabs, so if you want to be one of the lucky few who get to wear the hoody while holding the Dunny (a feat which should subsequently land you a very hot girlfriend), you’d best be on your toes for the soon-to-come site update. Don’t forget that oki-ni is a London-based company, and to account for time differences accordingly.

Oki-ni (one of my favorite collaboration brands) just announced their annual sale. Major price cuts on oki-ni edition Adidas trainers, Evisu, Fake London, and more. Pop by and check it out while it lasts, the Adidas vs Oki-ni shoes are too hot.

For those of you looking for a new music magazine that is all about the music, check out Dummy Magazine, a new quarterly music mag from the founders of Jockey Slut and X-ray Magazines. Dummy has teamed up with the guys at the London-based design group oki-ni (who we’ve blogged about before) to bring oki-ni subscribers (and now you) a pdf version of the new issue of Dummy–free of charge. The new issue has some great content, and features The Killers, Albert Hammond Jr., The Streets, Wolfmother, and The Mars Volta, among others. The thing I like the most about Dummy is it provides a unique voice in the a world where many of the mainstream music magazines are the exact same. Ya, it may not be as fun/easy to read a music magazine in pdf format (especially on the toilet), but you should at least check it out so that you know to order a real subscription.

Anyone who knows me knows the Honda Zoomer is likely the only scooter I’d ever ride. I covered the oki-ni edition back in February of ‘05, 15 units were made in Plasma yellow, black and a classic camo green. The latest in the Zoomer craze is the Stussy edition– made by Ben Wilson Design, Studio Oscar, Stussy UK and of course Honda. The bikes (limited to only 10) all come with limited edition MA-1 jackets and a numbered laser-etched Stussy Zoomer Skateboard. There is an American version of the bike called The Ruckus, but it’s simply not as good looking as the UK counterpart.

One of my favorite collaboration brands Oki-ni is having a pretty big sale on mens clothing, sneakers and accessories. Faves include the Marathon 80 Oki-ni/adidas collaboration an the dozens of fairly rare and hard to find t-shirts. Limited edition Oki-ni stuff is never this cheap (45 GBP for the adidas sneakers). Check it out if you’re in a shop and browse mood.

I dig everything oki-ni is up to, they always are up to some of the sickest design and co-branding around. This is a collaboration they just did with Motorola, re-designing faceplates for the V600 phone. The collaborations are with Fashion designer Eley Kishimoto, Tanner Krolle, and Gavin Turk. “Rare functional works of art”, with price tags to match. This Kishimoto model goes for $580.

oki-ni
has a really stellar collection of classic clothing, shoes, accesories and a great overall online store… Some of it is a bit pricey, but i’m loving the classic ADIDAS kicks they’ve got! This is the stuff you don’t find in the US very easily, like this ADIDAS collaboration with oki-ni the “Marathon 80″… so sweet..and ships to the US…great shop!
