There are a lot of products out there that purport to “cure your hangover,” and none I’ve tried have cured mine. I think the only true cure for head-pounding after-drinking death is to not poison your body in the first place– but for many of us, that type of sober behavior is simply not an option. So I think the best that these products can do for us is to alleviate our hangover symptoms. If that’s the test we’re working with, The Cure Drink works well. The ’secret’ ingredients in this product, well, aren’t so secret, but they work: proprietary blend of B and C vitamins, sugars, electrolytes, effervescence, and milk thistle gets me to the point where I can at least half-function. And for all of those questions you have about your hangover– after all, it’s natural that people question things that are so bad, Dr. Hangover is there to answer. Interestingly, San Diegoan Chris Dennler from the Rxmance Clothing label is the VP of sales and marketing for the Cure Drink. Funny– I did some work for B-Clear, another SD based hangover-helper, when I lived down there a few years ago. There sure was a lot of boozing going on in Man Deigo, so I don’t think it’s a coincidence!

T-Shirts, an item of clothing generally reserved for the warm spring time– but really is a year round necessity. Don’t get caught wearing mainstream nonsense this year– buy independent. We believe t-shirts are wearable art, and here are 11 of our favorite shirts ‘from the vaults’ for holiday time gift-age.

One of my favorite t-shirt lines rxmance recently launched their Spring 2006 line. The Boulder, CO natives keep pushing the boundaries with extremely soft cotton (seriously guys, where do you find this stuff!?) and as always, edgy hand-screened designs. The 44’s t-shirt from last May will forever remain one of my favorite t-shirts. Check out their new spring line, and drop an email to them encouraging them to launch an online shop. Right now their stuff is only available in physical stores. I promised them they’d see a splash online– their stellar designs deserve it.

Chris Dennler and Nick Motte started rxmance as a small independent clothing company. Right now they make t-shirts and tops. They were founded in Boulder, CO but are now out in San Diego, where they make their own silk screens and hand print each individual shirt. All the art and designs are done by them, and are mostly hand drawn. They say they’re “perpetually” making new shirts and doing deconstructed vintage stuff too”–and in Spring 2006 we’ll see the first cut and sew line. Their inspiration comes from traveling, music, architecture, art, nature, and the history channel– and they say they aren’t really concerned with trends or what colors are in or simply resting on a brand name. They want to be the “anti-trend company”. Regardless of that, their designs are pretty stellar.
