Spring is upon us, which means it’s sandal time for many of us. Super designer Philippe Starck (and he really is on a rampage right now) is at it again, partnering up with Puma. He has a handful of different shoe designs, and I don’t care for any of them except these sandals. A bit pricey, but they look quality.

So by now many of you may have noticed the Gawker crew started another blog, Sploid. “Sploid is a news site with a tabloid mentality — top stories up top, played big, as fast as they break. If there’s a political line, it’s anarcho-capitalist: sniffing out hypocrisy and absurdity, whether from salon left or religious right.” A neat idea, but what happened? It’s damn hard to look at, and laced with advertisements. If you want tabloid material in an easily digestible format I would start reading Fark.

Fullbleed’s slogan is “the new standard in discontent”–and I see why. This work is clearly a bit somber, but that’s fine with me. I’m all for self expression, and this design “paint it red”, with an image of a man painting the sky red, really caught my discontent attitude tonight. Fulbleed.org was started in the summer of ‘04, “as an alternative to the absurd amount of clothing companies that were merging in the music scene”. The designer, Rob Dabi, was clearly discontent–and for a good reason. Check out the work, some of my other favorites include a comprehensive set of stop lights, two business men in contact with their heads exploding, and a mash of planes called turbulence. They have t-shirts– soon hoodies and track suits.
