I’ve been rocking the Royal Elastic Grata’s for a few weeks now, and today I’ll officially give them my “fly footwear” nod of approval. They’re built almost entirely out of elastic, which gives a snug yet comfertable fit, which feels like you’re walking around in socks. The sole is a tough molded rubber, and a small leather flap on the heel makes it easier pulling them on and off. They feel Asian in design–they’re great for airports, easy at security– and classic enough to wear dressed up. They seem to be conversation starters, but also when worn with pants are discreet enough to just look like normal slip-ons.

Not much information about who “Boogie” is, but he clearly has hassle free credentials into the dope game, the gangs, drugs, streets, skinheads, crack, prostitutes, and all the other “dark stuff” that is laced into the streets of the world. His photography is mostly black and white, and very sharp. The subject matter is thought provoking, a sad reality, and very amazing. Warning, these shots are vivid.

It’s hard to accurately describe Raul Midon, but it’s not hard to tell after watching a short video of him on Letterman– he’s absolutely talented. He has a mix of soul, R&B, jazz, classic acoustic guitar (which I’m a huge fan of), and great sense of humor–with some unique improvisation. His album was just recently released and is called State Of Mind, and features a track with Jason Mraz, as well as Stevie Wonder. Watch this video, and wait until the “trumpet” comes in. It’s refreshing to see talent like this.
