Busy Being is a small LA based independent design shop, with products by some familair names like Lotta Jansotter, and Cody Hudson. The site is dedicated to carrying excellent, and exclusive product for the home–’where it all begins’. They recently got a limited run of Busy-Being/ Struggle Inc mugs, which come in beautiful looking hand-screened boxes, signed and numbered by Cody Hudson. I’ve seen this make the rounds over the past few weeks, and I really like what I see. DNA 11 is a service that creates an abstract and original piece of artwork from a simple sample of your DNA. The work starts at $390 for an 18×24″ and the largest size they offer is a 36×54″. You simply fill out a few questions, and send them a small sample of your saliva in a provided test tube. (The quickest and easiest way to get a sample of your DNA). There are 7 different styles to choose from– as far as color hues. Of course each artwork will come across as completely original, a unique genetic fingerprint. I can’t think of a more inventive way for original and “limited” edition artwork. Each peace is guaranteed unique, unless of course you have an identical twin. When asked “who is the artist”, you can say with quite certainty “I am”. The folks at DNA 11 were recently commissioned by Absolut Vodka to create a custom art piece– way to go guys!
