Remember those customizable shoes I mentioned a few weeks ago? They’re finally available and on sale just in time for the holiday gift giving season. Rumor has it at the end of the month we’ll see what the big dogs of the industry do to a pair of Tagur AKA’s– Dave Kinsey, Chuck Anderson, Mars One and may others were given a pair to customize. The shoe is available in a blank white for $80 and pre-laser tagged in white or black for $120.

Adam Kalkin is one of the most inventive and creative people I have read about in a very long time. His Push Button house was on display this past weekend in Miami Beach, but the shipping container with a luxury lining is really only the beginning of his story. If you have a minute and want a good read check out the New York Times article about him. It seems like he’s really onto something, he has a great story. Last February he borrowed $1 million from a bank to trade stock online with, within eight weeks he made $65,000. A large part went towards the fabrication of his Push Button House, he also donated $10,000 to a Tanzanian orphanage, and he’s leaving $1000 cash in a paper bag on a public bus. “Since I made the money as a performance, I wanted to spend it as a performance. I’m treating it like art currency.” Very fascinating, that will all go down in his book called “Adam Kalkin, Day Trader”.

Sneaker Freaker keeps working away with tons of fresh content and great concepts — they’re really the definitive source on sneaker culture these days. Issue 7 is out and hot as ever, and if you haven’t checked out Sneaker Freaker The Book yet, it’s a must have (320 pages of issues 1-6 packed in with a bunch of fresh sneaker content.) They also just released a couple pretty hot t-shirts, my favorite is this one: Keep Your Laces Loose.

Scott Rench needs little introduction on my site, his work continues to amaze us all. He has what looks like an amazing show up at the Dubhe Carreno Gallery in Chicago. I’ve got some exclusive photos of the show courtesy of Smitty Image. The pictures do more justice than any explanation I could give, but his work is a combination of digital images printed on handmade ceramic sandals. The show runs until January 4th, if you’re in the area make sure to check it out. More detailed pictures after the jump!
