If you’re unfamiliar with Kozyndan, aka Kozy and Dan, they’re an awesomely talented illustration star duo out of LA, California. They just updated their site with a handful of new Panorama drawings– and words can not describe how sick they are. Click through to the site to see this Tokyo Panorama in full size. From their site: The complexity of the average street corner in Tokyo is astounding. kozy’s ability to sit and concentrate on these myriad details is even more astounding. I asked to have myself laid onto the street so I could be promptly run over - kozy had no problem what so ever accommodating that request. Plus there are 2 naked business men in the Illustration, though one of them can only be seen on a full size print of the image. Most of the prints are available as plain old prints, archival prints and offset prints. They sell out quickly, and are very limited edition.

In Chinese culture, the lychee is a symbol of romance and love– and is considered to be the king of all fruits. Taking cues from the old country, a team of liquor aficionados dreamt up Lichido, a new drink produced and bottled in Cognac, France. They mixed aged cognac, premium vodka and essences of lychees, guavas and a touch of white peach juice. While I’m not generally a fan of sweet drinks, this one passed the test– and the ladies in our office loved it. Check their dance-music pumping website for stores near you.

Having met during the recording of her 2005 album All Rise, Inara George and Greg Kurstin have labored away in the last three years in Southern California. Greg’s multi-instrument abilities as a musician as well as songwriting and production abilities have helped The Flaming Lips, Beck, and Lilly Allen with their own efforts. Inara, the daughter of a 70’s rock band frontman, has moved from band to band until starting her solo career. Together they for the bird and the bee (yes, lower case) and what they have produced is ten tracks on a self-titled album that makes ample use of samplers, drum machines, and loops, all of which are a perfect canvas for Inara’s beautiful voice. I can’t help by draw comparisons to Zero 7 and Sia, though much mellower and drawn out. Ironically, you can catch the bird and the bee on tour with Sia (and a few dates sans) October 6 through November 20. Look for their albums in stores early 2007 on Metro Blue Records.
