Jones is releasing some new, sour, carbonated bevvies candies come January, and they need a shot of your best pucker to give their packaging some of that classic Jones je ne sais quoi. I know what you thinking — Sour soda?! The end of the world is coming! — but it’s actually just the newest addition to their candy line. Here’s another thing you could be musing over: flavors like Electric Lemonade, Limes with Orange, and Spiked Punch. I mused over that, and aside from helping me form a rather lovely, Disney Channel-ready kissy-face, it made me think of how much my life could improve once I abandon Watermelon Pucker for something more refined. Actually, I would never abandon Pucker. Wait, I mean, I’ve never, ever even tasted that stuff. How immature would that be? Anyway, if you want to see your face on the packaging of Jones’ latest experiment, upload your sourest face here.

London locals and illustration appreciatives should find their way to Coningsby Gallery on November 26th to experience FOUR, an exhibit of four influential artist’s contemporary work. The illustrations of Claire Scully, Erin Petson, Pomme Chan and Susie Wright, in the form of original artwork, prints and merchandise, will cover the walls of the West End gallery through the 1st of December, combining each artist’s unique and significant talent into one strong exhibition of illustration today. A private viewing of the collection will be held on Tuesday, the 27th of November, from 6 till 9 o’clock; find Coningsby’s location here.

I had a blast last weekend walking around the Sunday (Up)Market in London, and all the surrounding shops and going-ons around The Old Truman Brewery. The market is a must stop for anyone interested in emerging fashion, interesting art, crafts and a good ‘rough around the edges’ shopping experience. It was such a nice change from the prim and proper London fashion scene you see in Central London — word on the street is several high street designers cut their teeth selling in booths out of this one-day-a-week, rented-out parking garage. If you find yourself in London on a Sunday afternoon and don’t mind crowds, pop by and enjoy!

Phone accessories manufacturer Hulger just announced the launch of their new website, and to celebrate the sexy redesign of their now global company, they’re offering their equally sexy white P* Phone (the retro-looking one) and its base at a reduced price. For those unfamiliar with the P* Phone, here’s the run through: By attaching your cell, your Mac or your PC to the phone, via cord or bluetooth, you can chat away on the internets or via mobile just like your parents used to do (like with a real phone attached to your ear and stuff). The promo runs through December 15th, but don’t let that derail you from checking out Hulger’s other products, including special edition and limited edition products. So kitschy, so futuristic, so perfect for your nerdy bachelor uncle’s holiday gift…

You may recall earlier this year when we pointed you in the direction of the tremendous talent that is Paula McCullough, alerting you to her unique brand of puzzle art. Well, Paula is back in our good graces and not a moment too soon. This time she’s not juggling jigsaw pieces, but rather, she’s turned her attentions towards the construction of clockwork. Ms. McCullough has spent just over a year creating a limited edition collection of 60 (out of an eventual 100) clocks whose bases are made from rusty railroad tie plates found buried under overgrown weeds on the abandoned tracks near her home in Stowe, Vermont. These tie plates have welded backs, and serve to float the clock from the wall and protect the clock movement. The bases aren’t the only special component of these creations; they are almost entirely resultant of second-hand serendipity as the clock faces were also formed from found objects, making them truly unique tellers of time that are worth discovering for yourself. You may want to hurry though as these displays of duration are sure to disappear into the homes of discriminating chrono-philes before you can say, “time’s up!”

Photography is one of those weird things; pretty much everyone owns a camera of some sort, even if it’s just on a cell phone. Most people like the shots that they take because…they took them. It isn’t until you see some really excellent photographs that you realize just how much there is to learn about the art form. Or at least that was the reaction I had to Joseph O. Holmes’ work over the weekend.

Joe is a NYC-based photographer whose subjects range from random street finds to people in love. His photoblog features a compilation of well over 1000 shots collected over the last three years from around NY and abroad. He also teaches digital photography as a continuing education class at NYU — which means that if you like is stuff, you can go learn from the man himself. Which I might just do when I have a little free time and spare change.

I don’t like golf. However, I do love mini-golf, because the two are like, completely different, right? I’m jump-starting my office gift wish-list with this oldie but goodie, MyMiniGolf, a nine-hole DIY mini golf game designed by German design duo Georg Pal and Hannes Weber. The complete classic set comes with 13 obstacles, 1 steel club, 2 balls, 1 score pad (very important) and 1 transport box with carrying handle so you can set up shop anywhere you want– living room, office, back yard, etc. They’re currently sold out, but word is they’ll be back for sale in a few weeks. The whole kit runs for 169 Euros, or $250 (Look at the dollar go!). A bit pricey for injection-moulded ABS plastic, but hey, so are these.
