We’ve never made our love of Threadless much of a secret. From their appearance on SpearTalks to the opening of their first retail store, to MIT’s business school’s labeling of them as master innovators, we’ve had our eye on them for quite a while. As both a constant flow of fresh creations from a plethora of designers and a source of hot new clothes, what’s not to love?

The only thing better than getting some new summer tees to freshen up your quiver is getting them on the cheap. Say hello to Threadless’ Summer Blockbuster Sale. From June 2nd to midnight on June 6th, 18 brand new designs and 18 reprints of smashes from the past will be on sale. Plus, the first 250 people to order over $100 worth of product (and we all know spending that much won’t be difficult) will get their hands on a limited edition Threadless print.

Once you’re decked out in your new gear, only one question will remain: should that cash you saved go toward a beer on the patio… or more Threadless?

NYC has culinary gems like I have never seen. The best part is, there are the great classic restaurants, but there are also always new diamonds in the rough popping up to challenge the classics– keep em honest if you will. The art of creating a sublime cocktail is, in my book, a very culinary, focused, and difficult process to master– a truly astute cocktail is every bit as impressive as the plated delights. Mike Arauz has transferred his appreciation of finely crafted adult beverages into his newly launched site, The Lush Life: Guide to Manhattan’s Best Cocktail Bars. It looks like Mike is setting his site narrowly and with the utmost discretion, focusing on only his all star team of establishments, probably chosen through some sort of secret scientific method he’s concocted. But who knows, maybe he’ll add some others after we flood his inbox with tips of our own favorites. May I start with my own recommendation? The Randolph at Broome– most insane cocktails I encountered in the city.

Last year we turned you on to Brazilian artist tag team Mulheres Barbadas (that’s “bearded women” in Portuguese, just to give you an idea of this duo’s type of humor), and almost a year after the post, they just mounted their exhibit in Sao Paulo called Waxed Men (hmm, I’m seeing theme here). The show features fresh works solely in pen, a feat they admit is more time consuming than using Photoshop, but a heck of a lot more enjoyable. One of the most labor-intensive pieces took them three days to finish, and it also took that long for them to paint the wall outside of the show space — their first ever, by the way. The works have no specific subject, but instead are about “chaos, mayhem and toast.” Though they are looking forward to painting more outside spaces, team member Julio Zukerman was reported to be suffering “drawing spasms in his sleep after [their] little drawing marathon,” so they’re resting easy for a while. The exhibit runs at Rojo Magazine’s Sao Paulo art space in Livraria Pop until June 28th. Check out their website to see the collaboration in action.

Snap-Shot-City is an “urban photographic treasure hunt” that encourages folks to pick up their cameras, head out into their cities, and see things in a whole new light. After 2,000 participants, who’ve taken 6,000 pics in 78 cities around the world, they know a thing or two about how to get people’s artistic juices flowing

Now Snap-Shot-City is back for it’s third year, and to kick things up a notch they’re starting a good ol’ urban throw down. Posing the photographic challenge to two of the world’s cultural powerhouses — New York City and London the aim is to start a trans-Atlantic photo battle that will bring people together while also showing each city’s unique urban landscape.

Get registered (if you’re seriously hardcore, trying entering the team category) and on the big day you’ll be given a list of top-secret interpretive categories. Then, hit the streets to complete the hunt. The challenge is also linking together two of the world’s biggest gaming festivals — NYC’s Come Out & Play on June 6-8 and London’s Hide & Seek on June 26-28.

For the most part Steven Harrington (National Forest Design) sees the same world we see — except with an altered color scheme that rivals our wildest imaginations. His artwork comes from a place where peacocks meet rainbows, and a colony of the love children in teepees pay homage to the Easter Island statues. He invites us into his world with his new traveling art exhibition Our Mountain. The first show will be in Paris at the Lazy Dog Gallery. From there it will go on across Europe, spreading Steven’s ideas of redecorating. Not European? (specifically not Parisian, Berliner — the people and doughnut — Barcelonista or Milanese. What? No Londoners? Come on guys!?!) then be sure to pick up their 180 page book coinciding with the event. But you still want to travel around Europe don’t you? Head over to their blog and follow them around for a significantly lower fee.
