A friend of mine just got back from what he described to be an “awesome” trip to San Francisco. From a ‘fun to visit’ perspective, I think a lot of us would agree that S.F. is high on the list. He said that his accomodations were great, the food was first class, but more than anything, he was impressed by the experience he had at AB Fits. Being huge denim fans ourselves, we were excited to hear about his experience; after all, it doesn’t hurt to have a go-to denim place (or 2) in every major city. They not only carry a wide range of great denim, but they offer a highly personalized experience– from what he told me, they were experts of the jean. I went to check out their website, and I’d be lying if I said I was impressed. It’d be nice to see them brush up their site a little– maybe update their blog with current news and even a little content. Not that I think a full service, locally situated denim boutique needs a high-tech and beefy website– but you know what I mean. San Franciscans out there… can you back up my friend’s AB Fits experience or what? I can’t wait to see both their Union Square and North Beach stores for myself when I’m in S.F. next.

I’ve been there more than once, and it’s a good store, both for men and women. It’s not a huge place but they have great stuff, well-selected. I got the perfect hat from Pistil– it’s wool, it looks great, it’s thin enough on the top that my head doesn’t get sweaty, and it’s got a fleece band around the ears so my ears stay warm. My girlfriend got a great denim jacket and a necklace.

The other store I really like in SF is MAC (Modern Appealing Clothing), although that’s much more expensive and I can’t really afford to shop there.

for sure, everyone should get out to SF….I’ll have to swing by that shop though, haven’t been yet.

Indeed a good store, but I’d recommend the one in North Beach over the one in Union Square. The North Beach store opened first and has a much nicer atmosphere, although it is kind of inconvenient to get to. Also good in SF is the Blue Jean’s Bar on Union, or August in Oakland on College.

Its the only place I go for my jeans. And as for the female view its a godsend b/c shopping for jeans with the right cut can be a harrowing experience and these guys make it a snap. They immediately start picking out fits that will look best on you and are attentive until you find the pair of jeans you are looking for.

So I just had a customer come into my store talking about your site so I had to check up on it myself. I’m really pleasesd to hear that your friend had a great experience in our store. I just have a little to add. We get compared to many denim stores near and far, but often people forget to speak of the vast product knowledge that we possess. Yeah I’m tooting my own horn but I’ve been to these other stores in SF.

For instance at the Blue Jeans Bar…… You know what I’m not going to even start to point out flaws I’m just going to say that there is 15 years of denim knowledge here at A B Fits. Some of which I’m still learning. So yeah we might have some of the same styles as other stores but again the knowledge is unparralleled. We can fit anybody and if we can’t we know which jean will.

p.s. And for those uber denim purists you should also check out Self-Edge located on Valencia near 17th.

p.s.s Thanks for the comment about the website we’ll try to work on that.

See you on your trip to SF
