Dr. Alex Hughes is an orthopedic surgeon at UCLA in the morning and in the afternoon, he is the president of Function Drinks. You may have heard of Function Drinks (their first drink, Urban Detox, is a popular remedy for nasty hangovers), which is a fusion of clinical science and all natural, tasty beverages, and we've been fortunate enough to have the chance to try their three new functional platforms currently being launched into the market. The new drinks, entitled House Call (also dubbed as “Dr. McDrinky” on the bottle), Vacation and Light Weight are yummy to say the least. House Call is a pleasant honey green tea flavor that makes you think twice because of its complexities. Vacation, which improves your mood, is a tropical getaway in a bottle due to its pleasant pacific coconut flavor (and those magical scientific ingredients). Light Weight has a sophisticated combination of active ingredients to get your metabolism going and burn calories, including red wine extract. We can't decide which of the three Light Weight flavors is the best: Acai Pom, Dragonfruit or Pink Grapefruit, so you're going to have to try them yourself. Just 8oz of Function Drinks will make you feel like a better person, so keep an eye out for this drink, which definitely earns its name.

I love this stuff. All their drinks are amazing. So cool that you decided to blog about this. I think you certainly spotted a great trend.

I love Function. It’s hard to leave Whole Foods without a shopping cart full of it. My favorite right now is probably Youth Trip, although Brainiac is a close second. Looking forward to trying out the new products.

I am in love with Function Drinks. In fact, I have an obsession with VACATION. A) It is delicious. Not too sweet and very refreshing and B) I drink about 3 a day and I feel so uncluttered and at ease. I swear, Proxac in a bottle. I think I need an IV drip of Vacation and Light Weight - burn some calories and be happy all the time? Yes please!

you know you’re doing ok in life when your biggest dilemma is figuring out which flavor of Light Weight to buy on your lunch break. Acai Pom and Pink Grapefruit are totally neck and neck.

i’m completely obsessed…. alternative energy gets the blood pumping early in the morning…. brainiac’s awesome before class lectures….. vacation swings my irritations at work…… urban detox dismisses feeling like $&(# after a late night out…..
cant go wrong when grabbing a function drink

Holy crap! The new vacation drink is unreal. havent tried all of the new ones, but if they are half as good as the others, i am sold.

im a huge fan of these drinks. ive been drinking light weight as an alternative to my day snackings and ive honestly been shedding pounds with this thing. it makes me less hungry and gives me energy to go about my day. i recommend you try dragonfruit. the taste is actually REALLY good :)
