While we’re on the topic of iPod protection, take a look at the Invisible Shield from ShieldZone. While the ibumps product protects the chassis of your iPod from scratches, the Invisible Shield focuses on the screen itself. While you should by no means limit its use to your iPod (it can be used on any product with a screen), if you are anything like me, your iPod is probably the best place to start. Everyone I’ve talked to that has used Invisible Shield has had a positive experience with it– “It works great,” or “that stuff is indestructible” are two testimonials that come to mind right off the bat. I have seen some iPod screens so scratched that you can barely see what’s behind the screen– so for all of you guilty people out there (myself included), this is some food for thought.

I bought an Invisible Shield for my iPod Video and I love it. It really is scratch-proof, not merely scratch-resistent. No more hiding my iPod in an ugly case. But be forewarned, it’s not nearly as easy to apply as the manufacturer states. Getting it around the corners is tricky, and if you don’t lay it down square you’ll end up partially covering the dock port or the hold switch (I had to snip a piece of the IS off to clear the hold switch). And despite what the manufacturer says, once you lay it down you can’t adjust it. Proceed with caution.

Agreed. Putting the things on take surgeon-like precision. But once they’re on, those things are damn near indestructible.

Again, agreed. Put it on a Zen Vision:M. The thing is bangin’. They have a HUGE assortment of what can be covered with the IS. Wish I had it earlier.
