Spring Colors for Shuffles? - Josh Spear, Trendspotting

I was at the Apple store yesterday, and I spotted a creative wearing a purple Shuffle. He didn’t want to talk much about it, and I’m not finding much information elsewhere, so for now I’m just going to cross my fingers that one of the rainbow’s most neglected shades is finally going to get a nod via the sweetest little media player around. This wasn’t just a cover, and I don’t think I was hallucinating; it was a delicious, grape-popsicle shade of shuffle, darker than the magenta color shown here, and if he had one (and wasn’t getting fired for wearing it on the floor), odds are we’ll all be able to get our hands on it soon enough. If anyone knows anything I don’t, fill me in!

Right, that magenta shade in the picture is one of the newer colors, but this guy had one that was a really rich shade of purple…

I’d venture to guess that the employee was showing off a (somewhat) competitive product by Uxcell called the “Le Clip”. That would explain why he wouldn’t say a thing about it. its possible its new. I was at an apple store last year about 2 months before the new colored shuffles came out and all the employees were sporting colored shuffles. I made a comment to my gf that i’ve never seen any other color besides silver so those must be new. I did not bother to ask the salemen if they were for sale since i was not in the market for a new shuffle. This might be a Apples new way of spreading the word.

Folks, there’s no way that an Apple employee would be 1) Carrying around an unreleased product, or 2) Carrying around a competitor’s product.

Isn’t it just maybe a *little* more likely that this was a current iPod shuffle within a third-party case? Such as those available at:

yall should know this by now. we, apple employee’s, dont get inside information about new products and we certainly dont get new products ahead of time. what that employee was wearing was a colored skin that we all got. Nothing more than a sticky, shiny, sheet of plastic.

Isn’t it just insane that with the slightest colour change, everyone goes nuts?! I know i am! When i read that there could be another colour other than that magenta puke one, I got really excited and thought about throwing my beloved OLD scratched nano in the garbage for some “grape-flavour”. Why remodel the thing if you can just slap an extra coat of paint on it? Great for those revenues!
