We all woke up today at 4:30AM to check out the legendary Tsukiji fish market. If you don’t have a strong stomach, a sense of adventure, or an insane love for fresh sushi– don’t bother, you can sleep in. We however had all of the above this AM and spent several hours exploring the gigantic marine metropolis. It’s unbelievably intense, a gigantic semi circle with rows and rows of fresh fish and creatures from the sea, many still alive and being gutted to sell to restaurants and wholesalers around the world right there. Serious workers scramble around like madmen going about their morning routines. Highlights include the quite-disgusting buckets of eels, the barrels of live octopus and of course the legendary tuna auctions, where enormous tunas are auctioned off to be cut up into yummy sashimi. More pictures coming very soon!

YO! if you catch a Bluefin Tuna off the coast of martha vineyard, you can make around $30,000 on one fish! The japanese business man cuts you a check right on the docks!
